Description EVALUATION SPECIALIST, OpenCourseWare, to identify assessment metrics and design evaluation methods, instruments, and processes; evaluate production performance, MIT faculty participation/ satisfaction, and OCW usage/impact; and partner with academic researchers to evaluate effectiveness of OCW materials on educational outcomes. Responsibilities include conceptualizing evaluation program; designing and implementing data collection methods, instruments, and data management mechanisms; administering evaluation processes and tools, either directly or through oversight/coordination of collaborators or contractors; analyzing data and reporting/interpreting results; identifying trends from assessment findings, advising on opportunities for improvement, and recommending appropriate action; monitoring developments in academic assessment/evaluation research; disseminating assessment/research findings through scholarly journals, academic conferences, and electronic media; organizing and archiving evaluation data for future research; and making data available for analysis by collaborating researchers. REQUIREMENTS: a Ph.D. in a discipline relevant to educational assessment; five to ten years' related experience; and significant knowledge, background, and hands-on experience with educational evaluation/assessment in higher education, preferably with educational technology production measurement and evaluation. Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative assessment methodologies required; as is expertise in statistics and software for analysis and presentation. Knowledge of issues, best practices, and current research in higher educational evaluation needed. Must be able to communicate program needs and negotiate with internal and external constituencies to ensure quality and timeliness in meeting OCW goals. Excellent oral and written communications skills important. We will be unable to provide relocation expenses or sponsorship. Salary range: $65-75K. 02-1169 Location
