Job Description

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, OpenCourseWare, to provide administrative support to the Executive Director and the OCW team. Will manage Executive Director's calendar and schedule meetings; handle calls, e-mail, and standard mail; arrange travel; take on special projects; maintain files; and prepare materials for presentations/meetings. Administrative support for the OCW team will include scheduling meetings and arranging logistics; managing files; arranging travel; maintaining office supplies; distributing mail; responding to inquiries; maintaining contact and e-mail lists; resolving problems; special projects; and other administrative matters as they arise. Will report to the Administrative Officer. REQUIREMENTS: experience with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; some knowledge of database software; good oral and written communications skills; good judgment; and ability to establish and prioritize objectives, develop plans to meet deadlines, and adapt to changes in work priorities. Must accept personal responsibility for task fulfillment and job performance, and be a self-motivated professional who is comfortable with ambiguity. Ability to follow-up on and see tasks through to completion needed. Must be punctual, able to organize and manage time and show meticulous attention to detail. Should be able to develop productive work relationships and resolve conflicts with a win/win attitude. Seek a self starter who is able to work in a fast paced environment to meet critical deadlines. Ability to work independently and as part of a team important. Knowledge of MIT environment strongly preferred. Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. 03-0057GD
