I have been building my own furniture ever since elementary school. This is the latest piece that I built back in 2009, but I have added drawers to it randomly ever since. The core of the desk is eight aluminum angle extrusions with holes an inch apart. The pieces of stained oak are bolted to these in order to support the shelves and drawers. A giant piece of glass almost 6 by 3 feet makes the top surface.
Complete with all of the clutter on the shelves of the desk!
