I hold a Degree in Civil Engineering (equivalent to S.B. and S.M.) and a Degree in Mathematics (also equivalent to S.B. and S.M.), both from UPC-BarcelonaTECH.
I have been a student at the Center of High Performance CFIS, in which only around 15-20 students are admitted per year in the whole Spain and which allows you to compatibilize two High degrees (high = 5 years long each) on Engineering or Mathematics at the same time.
My research interests are mainly regarding Computational
Mechanics and Optimization, in which I have been focused on studying a collapse
simulator for 2D and 3D frames through linear optimization. I work on
the simulation and design optimization of Metamaterials and thus, I am
working with the
Hybridizable Discontinuous Galerkin methods and the Finite Element
Method for the simulations and SDP and Adjoint methods for the optimization. The study of Photonic structures and their bandgaps is also one of my main
fields of research. I am also interested in Engineering Education.
I like sports in general and soccer in particular. I
support F.C. Barcelona so I
go to Camp Nou to enjoy it every time I'm
in the city. I also love my home city, Barcelona, and my
I have been involved in writing some books and I am the author of
one of them about Calculus. It goes a bit further than other books,
there is a course on Moodle which
both students can use and instructors can adapt to their courses, if
they use Moodle.
