Quartier Belleville

This is an area with an odd collection of houses built from all different styles. There was no urban planning whatsoever, so the inhabitants all chose their own architects and created their homes from a mix of brick, metal, ceramic, cement, and plaster.

A few looked like country stone cottages from fairy tales; others were ugly cement blocks, and some people had decorated their homes with colorful mosaics or fancy wronght-iron railings.

There was even one with tilted angles that somewhat resembled the Stata Center (though much nicer looking). (-Lisa)
