Rue de Télégraphe

Located in the 19th arrondisement, this street is the highest point in Paris, at 128 meters above sea level. This is also where the first telegraph was invented, by Claude Chappe. A plaque on the street commemorates his achievement, but Chappe was killed (during the French Revolution) shortly after his invention, because he used the telegraph to send a message to the king.
