Vegetarian Restaurants in Paris

I have heard that Paris can be very unfriendly to vegetarians, but I did not find that to be the case at all!  As the only vegetarian on the trip, I took some time to visit a few vegetarian restaurants during my free time.  My first stop was Aquarius (40 Rue de Gergovie, 14th), and I had the mixed grill.  It was a lot of food, and the plate included tomates à la provencale, gratin dauphinois, and a poached egg over spinach. Le Grenier de Notre Dame (18 Rue de la Bucherie, 5th) was my second vegetarian experience in Paris, and again the portion size was huge!

This restaurant is right in the center of the city, and was easy to walk to from our hotel.  It opened in 1978, so whoever said Paris does not cater to vegetarians has been wrong for quite some time! (-Alicia)
