La Vie Nocturne à Paris!

After our exciting visit to La Défense, everyone was ready to head back to Paris and do as nouveaux Parisiens would do on a Friday evening—eat/dine/be merry/dance/shop/ explore the city! Upon our descent from the top of La Grande Arche de La Defense, Lauren and Lisa decided to take advantage of “les soldes” and go shop in the large mall in the area. Tess, Alona, Alicia, Serginio, and I left in search of the best ice cream parlor of the city, Berthillon’s.  Berthillon is a French manufacturer of luxury ice cream located in the heart of Paris, on Île St-Louis. Berthillon boasts over 30 flavors of ice cream and sorbets, including some exotic flavors such as Foie gras (Duck/Goose Liver). People flock here from all over the world to savor the magical ice cream produced, and oh boy, was it worth the visit. I ordered Noisette (Hazelnut), Alona, the Crème de Marron (Chestnut), Serginio, Caramel ice cream with French Toast, Tess, some sort of berry (Framboise, perhaps?) ice cream, and Alicia, possibly something nutty. One spoonful was all that it took for all of us to want to die right there. It was heaven. Berthillon’s ice cream was one of the best I’ve tasted in my life. I recommend it to everyone who visits Paris. Le Bonheur…  (-Carmel)
