The masts are stored separately from the hulls. As the team moves the boats outdoors, they set up the boats' rigging, attaching the masts to the hull. The masts aren't particularly heavy, but are big and unwieldy. The mast on these boats must be guided into a slot on the bottom of the hull then braced into place with three pieces of aircraft cable running between the deck and mast.
