The MIT Judo Club is governed under MIT Club Sports rules, so the Judo Club can only accept members with an MIT athletic card and participants need to sign a liability waiver. Access to MIT's athletic facilities also requires an MIT athletic card. All MIT students receive an MIT athletic card for free. Others may purchase athletic cards or temporary passes. Per MIT's policies, we welcome any MIT affiliate to join our club. If you are not sure of your qualification as an MIT affiliate, please e-mail judo@mit.edu.
You can find the official Judo rules at the International Judo Federation (IJF) website. There you can also find most of the Japanese terms that you will hear on the mat, as well as the names of several techniques.
