The Babylon Project was a dream given form. Its goal: to prevent another war by creating a place where humans and aliens could work out their differences peacefully. It's a port of call--a home away from home for diplomats, hustlers, entrepreneurs, and wanderers. Humans and aliens wrapped in two million, five hundred thousand tons of spinning metal, all alone in the night. It can be a dangerous place, but it's our last, best hope for peace. This is the story of the last of the Babylon stations. The year is 2258. The name of the place is Babylon 5 ======================================================================== "Babylon 5: The Garments of Vengeance" is a thirty person assassin game set in the first season of Babylon 5, with an experimental three-day format. It is being written by Tom Giordano, Charles Hope, Kate Mahoney, Michael Person, and Dan Winship under the auspices of the MIT Assassins' Guild and will run for its second and final time on the weekend of March 13-15. Come play Ivanova, Garbaldi, Lennier, Na'Toth, and other human and alien characters from the world of Babylon 5. Please send completed applications to b5-gms@mit.edu. Applications are due by the First of March. NOTE: As the last week in February is filled by Terror, if you're going to forget about applying while playing Terror, get your app in early, so we can be sure we're full. --- Cut here --- ADMINISTRIVIA: Name: E-mail: Phone: The game will run from approximately 7pm-1am on Friday, 2pm-1am on Saturday (with a break for dinner), and 3pm-10pm (plus wrap-up) on Sunday. You will be expected to be in-game the whole time. If you sent in a completed app in the fall and either were waitlisted or requested to not be in the fall run, just tell us that now and we can dig up the rest of your app. If you sent in an `I'd like to play this Spring' message but no app, tell us that now, and then fill out the rest of the app. ======================================================================== EXPERIENCE: Do you have any experience with live role-playing? Have you played any assassin before? If so, please name the characters from the last three games you played (or something else the GMs would remember you from). ======================================================================== FAMILIARITY WITH THE GENRE... [ ] I have never seen any Babylon 5. [ ] I'm generally familiar with the show, but couldn't win trivia contests. [ ] I know more about the show than some of the GMs. Are there any characters/races/groups from the series that you would be particularly psyched to play? (The game is set in the first season between "And the Sky Full of Stars'' and ``Deathwalker''. The parts of Kosh, G'Kar, Londo, Delenn, Sinclair, Talia, and Bester are not available.) Are there any that you particularly don't want to play? ======================================================================== CHARACTER: How busy do you want to be? What motivation(s) do you want your character to have? (ie, Money, Power, Love, Loyalty, Revenge) Do you want to be good or evil? Nice or depraved? Would you rather be a human or an alien? Would you like to have overt power (e.g. command staff), bearing in mind it comes with a lot of headaches too? Would you like to be a traitor to an organization? Would you mind being one? Would it depend on the organization? How do you feel about playing/dealing with the following: --Committee plots --Love plots --Political Negotiations --Solo part --Team part --Law Enforcement --Terrorism --A character everyone hates --Math puzzles --Word puzzles --Riddle trails You are on a ten person committee with a number of issues to decide. Which method do you prefer to use to augment private deal making? [ ] Trial by combat [ ] Assassination and blackmail [ ] Impassioned speechmaking and public posturing You only have an hour to live. What would you like to do before you die? Is there something you'd find interesting to play for an hour or two, but not a whole weekend? (This doesn't mean `do you only want to play for an hour or two'. Just answer the question as written and don't worry about what it means.) Tell us anything else you think we should know (strong likes or dislikes, character ideas, etc.):
