Standing policies voted upon at Guild meetings in the last 5 years ================================================================== (Plus master nominations/awards.) 4.26.98: Brian Litofsky, Master nomination. Passed. 12.6.97: Patrol policy, revamped by Larry. Passed white-ballot Short-games policy: they "should only rerun w/i a limited period of time, and then be declared dead". Passed. 4.27.97: Life/permanent membership discount: Passed, "without discussion or much notice at all". Master nomination: at any guild meeting, nominated beforehand, by h-c; h-c will accept GM team or petition nominations. Tony C wants to strike down nomination by petition. Brian S wants nomination solely by petition(?). Sarath's "Masters should be sworn in" gets moved to tradition. 11.18.96: Scheduling Policy: "game during term or IAP which spans more than one day shall have a buffer of a weekend before and after" passes. H-c wanted a policy to point at, GMs of games (esp. 10-days) were grumpy at having too many games around them, making them scramble for players. (Note that it hasn't been much of a problem since.) Zampolit policy: Passes without much discussion. 4.12.96: Master 10-person nomination passes unanimously, no discussion. Master nomination for Tom Giordano; passes. 12.3.95: Nathan Williams appointed new Court Wizard. Derek Herrera elected Master Assassin. 4.9.95: Non-Guild LARP mail will be forwarded to the Guild mailing list, passed. Derek Herrera nominated for Master Assassin (mostly by undergrads). 11.6.94: Patrol policy renewed white-ballot. Having a scheduling meeting with the Guild is not renewed, at the recommendation of the high-council. Master nominations: Pier Ho, by the Moscow GMs, passes. Kate Mahoney, by the h-c, passes. Nico Garcia, by the floor, passes. "Short games shall only be rerun within a limited period of time." Passes (large argument for is story-telling) "Two different games shall not run on consecutive weekends" fails; this is jeremy's attempt to kill short games. =) Casting/inclusion policy: Much flamage. Eventually, "The High Council shall approve the casting policy of a game when it is scheduled" is passed, but then overriden by "No policy (but the h-c reserves the right to hose those who abuse this)". 4.10.94: Master nominations: Adam Suchoki, fails; Wes Carrol, succeeds; David Oh, succeeds; Andy Kraft, succeeds. Life and Permanent memberships shall be discounted by 1/2 their previous dues; passes.
