MIT Karate Club


Shotokan Ohshima Dojo, Santa Barbara, California

The MIT Karate Club is affiliated with Shotokan Karate of America (SKA), a national non-profit organization founded and led by Shihan Tsutomu Ohshima.

We practice year-round at MIT and attend various SKA events throughout the year.

All practices are open to beginners.

We invite you to stop by and practice with us for a few sessions to get a taste of karate and meet our group.

Club Fees

$10/semester.

MIT gym day pass/membership is required for club participation.

Our club is allowed a limited number of non-MIT members. Please contact us if you are not affiliated with MIT and are interested in joining our club.


Class Schedule

Practices are generally held in the Multipurpose Room, located in building W31 (duPont Gymnasium).

Please be punctual.
