Elicitation tools
Eliciting judgements in the field can be tough. Here is some stuff I built to help me do that.
Flash animations
"A dog, a cat, and a chicken" [download] [view] - A short Flash file (uses sounds) for use as an elicitations stimulus. Good for: Topicalization, contrastive focus, etc.
Door [download] [view] - A short Flash file for use as an elicitations stimulus. I used it to try to get middle constructions
Power Point Presentations
I used these to elicit various coreference judgements. Asking "in sentence 'Pedro broke his machete' can 'Pedro' be the same person as 'his' didn't work so well for me. On advice from Matt Pearson, I constructed these stories in PowerPoint, and then asked 'Is this sentence appropriate to the situation'. Feel free to modify as you see fit, but I think I'd appreciate a reference.
