The new Knights were chosen by a committee comprising Boyce Rensberger, outgoing director of the Fellowships; Philip Hilts, incoming director; Nancy Hopkins, MIT professor of biology; Usha McFarling, Los Angeles Times; and Charles Petit, Knight Science Journalism Tracker.
