1998 Results
1998 S E A S O N O V E R V I E W The 1998 season failed to produce an improved record for the MIT Women's Lacrosse team. The team finished with 2 wins and 9 losses. On the bright side, MIT garnered its first conference victory in 2 years with a win over Wheaton College. While the team is still very young, skill levels in the 1998 season vastly improved over previous seasons. The Spring Break trip to Florida gave MIT its greatest challenge. The Engineers faced the #2 and #6 Division 3 teams in the nation, Trinity and Williams Smith. The competition proved to be tremendous, but the team never gave up and played magnificently. Tracy Sadowski led the team in scoring for the second straight year with 34 goals and 4 assists. She was named to the NEW 8 All-Conference team and earned the team's MVP honor. Maddy Burke '99 (29 goals, 2 assists) was also named to the NEW 8 All-Conference team. With Sadowski and Burke returning next year along with many other talented players, MIT will dominate its new conference, the NEWMAC, in the 1999 season. |
