I thought this echoing of the engaged columns in the form of the phones made a nice juxtaposition between the elite and the common. On the whole, Harvard does not engage much with Harvard Square. People do not flow in between the spaces; the entrances from The Yard into the square are oblique and locked at night. And yet, Harvard forms a backdrop for the space and hovers over it with a somewhat aloof presence.
