This is another example of design failure in Winthrop Park. The columns are labeled "Winthrop Square," but there isn't much of a square here. This is merely a token design gesture by the developers of this office building to interface with the context of the building.

Perhaps the Parks Department refused to open the park on this side. My feeling is this unfinished thought is the result of uncordinated, thoughtless design.
