LIGHT AND SITE

Photograph your site with respect to qualities of light, especially aspects of light that are particular to your site, as well as to time of day, weather, and season. Take photographs at different times of day on different days.

Post your images online to FLICKR by 8AM Monday, February 19. Select 5 photographs for presentation and discussion in class and put them in an album named Light on your FLICKR page.

Between Monday and Wednesday At 8 AM, review all 5 of the selected photographs of other students in the class. To do this, go to the members page for our Flickr class site. Click successively on each member's icon to link to their Flickr page and to access their Light album. Select one image from each student's Light album and post a comment and/or constructive critique on the photo. Your comments should go beyond an assessment of composition and should address the subject of the assignment: light and its qualities, its capacity to reveal a sense of place and significance.

Create a Miro board for this class and upload all photos taken for this assignment. As you continue to make photographs for subsequent assignments, upload those photos to your Miro board.

Post your 5 light photos on your own class website by Friday, March 1. Workshop on February 28 will provide what you need to create your website and upload the images.
