Want to be part of a group that makes public art and supports each other to do the same?

I came up in Queer Nation and the Women’s Action Coalition (WAC) and want more of that spirit in my life.  I’m also sick of walking around the streets of my community feeling a level of oblivion that makes me sad and angry. I’ve made street posters, projections, billboards, done street theater and want to do that and more…

If you’re interested, please write a little about yourself, your background
and interests to and mail it to:  dovecurl@gmail.com

The second show of Company One’s seventh season, A More Perfect Union is the newest work from Boston-based playwright Kirsten Greenidge and represents yet another inspired collaboration, from the Elliot Norton Award-winning theatre company. Working with students from Boston Arts Academy – Boston’s only public arts high school - The Hub’s next Broadway-bound playwright pens a dramatic journey of interwoven tales leading down the country’s darkest streets with the ultimate promise of American hope.

Fenway Community Health Presents...
Living Well Presents To Hell and Back: Tales of Crystal Addiction and Recovery

Old South Church, Guild Room, 645 Boylston Street, Boston
7 to 9 pm

As the number of lives being devastated by crystal meth addiction is on the rise and the stories of the descent into crystal-induced psychosis become more harrowing, it's clear that there is no quick-fix to the growing crystal epidemic within the gay community. Despite what appears to be a grim picture, there is hope.  Along side stories of crystal tragedies are stories of men who have been able to kick their seemingly unbreakable addiction to crystal.  Join us to hear personal stories of crystal meth recovery and the return from the dark side. This forum will also include facilitated discussion by addictions specialists around how we as community members, friends, partners, family members or active crystal users can work toward a solution to crystal addiction.  Call 617-927-6026 or email dleblanc@fenwayhealth.org for more information.

Guest facilitators:  William Halpin, MSW, LCSW is a clinical social worker who does substance counseling and psychotherapy in the outpatient addictions department at Fenway Community Health.  He also specializes in doing individual and group therapy for gay/bi men who struggle with crystal meth abuse.  Dr. Kevin Kapila, is Medical Director of Mental Health at Fenway Community Health and also works as a primary care medical provider at Fenway's South End Office. He is trained in psychiatry and Internal Medicine with a clinical interest in GLBT medical and mental health issues.
