MIT's Race and Sexuality Task Force Mission: Members of this group will work with MIT community members of Color and identity-based student groups in order to find allies, build alliances, and connect with LBGT and questioning individuals of Color. The Task Force is interested in making sure that all aspects of LBGT@MIT are anti-racist in their efforts and diverse in their composition. We are seeking additional people, LBGT and allies, alike, to help us clarify and work on our mission and goals. Goals: 1) Address Issues of Race in the LBGT Community at MIT (with the hope of eliminating racism and increasing awareness/sensitivity/friendliness with regard to racial diversity in the LBGT community) 2) Build Alliances among different identity groups (with the hope of reducing/eliminating homophobia and increasing LBGT awareness/sensitivity/friendliness within these various groups) To be added to the Race and Sexuality Task Force list-serve with information about meetings and events, please e-mail genderstudies@mit.edu with the subject line: RSTF To be added a list-serve that simply announces events that relate to the intersection of race and sexuality, please e-mail genderstudies@mit.edu with the subject line: Race and Sexuality Events RSTF Active Community Meetings: All meetings are OPEN to newcomers and to anyone interested in race-sexuality
interactions, identities, or issues. Please come with your thoughts, goals,
ideas, hopes, stories, aims, and energy. Or just drop in to listen. RSTF Co-Sponsors: |
