Events from 2005-2006
Here are some of the things that we have done in the past. Some of these are yearly events and some of these are one time events but they have all been fun.
Apple Picking
Our Annual Aple Picking trip is always a good time. Not only do we get lots of apples and such but we always go back to Johanna's for fresh apple pie. This year was

Thanksgiving Service and Dinner
Every year on the night before Thanksgiving LEM hosts a service and Thanksgiving pot luck dinner. We provide the turkey and everyone else provides their favorite side dish. Everything from pies to green bean casserole to everyone's favorite yams with the marshmellows on top will be served. What more could you ask for?

Lessons and Carols
Our annual lessons and carols service was great. The chapel was beautiful with the christmas candles and the advent wreath. The service has wonderful lessons and songs from the advent season. After the service we all head to Lobby 7, just across the street from the chapel and sing Christmas Carols in Lobby 7 for all who pass through. Once our candles burn down we head back to W11 for an Advent feast. Because really what would an LEM event be without food.

Physics Soup Luncheon
Each year LEM cooks a osupl luncheon that directly follows the first big exam for the first-year students. Traditionally this has been the physics exam. After their first real college exam most students find that a warm bowl of mom's chicken noodle soup, or the closest that they can get is more than appreciated. Each year we serve between 200 and 300 bowls of soup and lots of warm gooey chocolate chip cookies.

Pilgrimage to Palestine
Amy, Johanna, Claire, and James joined with other college students from New England and Bishop Shaw on a pilgrimage to Palestine. They had many great experience both visiting so many Holy places as well as visiting with the Palestinian people and learning more about the culture and conditions there. They also did some community service work while there. They have shared many great experiences with us about their time there.

Easter Vigil
We celebrated our thrid sunrise Easter Vigil this year. This year the service was again in the Chapel. The services started in the dark on the steps of the student center this year with the prayers of light. The service ended in the chapel, (It is too cold to have a service outside in March in Boston!) There was lots of music, dancing, and fun to be had at this beautiful service of praise.
