Recent Events at LEM
Lots of things have been happening at LEM this year, from services to service. Look below to find out some of the activities that we have been involved with.
Province 1 Episcopal Retreat
The Province 1 gatehring of the Episcopal Chaplancies was in February. Students from MIT, Harvad, Notrheastern, Tufts, BU, EDS, Dartmouth and others all joined in for a weekend of prayer, relection, singing and fun in New Hampshire.

IAP Retreat
LEM students and friends went away on retreat to Endicott House during IAP. This retreat was a great way to gear up for the coming semseter. We got time to relax and refresh for the challenges to know we are going to face in the semester ahead.
.
Exam Soup Luncheon
In our yearly tradition, LEM served warm soup as comfort food to the first-year students after their first exam in their first semester at MIT. Physics can be hard, but a warm bowl of chicken noodles seems to refresh body and soul
.
Lessons and Carols
Our yearly Lessons and Carols service was as big and beautiful as ever. After a wonderful service in the chapel where we listened to to readings, heard the organ, and sang carols, we went over to Lobby 7 to sing carols for the whole community. It is always a fun time and the holiday cheer is always apprciated by the students and staff who wander through the Lobby at this stressful time of year for students.
.
A trip to the Cathedral for the Seating of the Presiding Bishop
Melva and Janet went to Washington DC to see the first female Presiding Bishop be seated at the National Cathedral
.
Bishop's Visit to LEM
Bishop Shaw came to LEM for our weekly Wednesday Night Service. He both preached and celebrated the Eucharist for us. Then he joined us for a delicious dinner and a great discussion about the importance of college ministry. At the service we had many students, staff, alumni, family and friends. It was a great time for all.

Apple Picking
Our annual September apple picking trip was a success as usual. We went out to the orchard and picked apples until both our bags and ourselves were stuffed. Then we went to Johanna's house to bake pies, play some touch football, relax and of course eat.
