I want to do community outreach – how do I get involved?
LEM traditionally has done outreach working with the Charles River Conservancy and the CASPAR homeless shelter in Cambridge to name a few. Various outreach opportunites are available. Join our mailing list to find out when they are happeneing.
Additionally LEM has raised and given out thousands of dollars to charities but locally, nationally and internationally. LEM has sent money to Palestine, to Katrina relief and local homeless shelters all in the last year.
The RESULTS group, which is advised by Rev. Amy McCreath, trains people in activism around the issues of poverty and hunger.
How do other students at MIT think about faith and life, work, science, politics, art, peace, and justice? Our discipleship group meets on Monday evenings. Join us to talk about the BIG questions (Why are we here? Where does evil come from? Does God exist? How should I live my life?) and the small ones (What is the difference between Lutherans and Episcopalians? What is the Nicene Creed?)
Curious about Other Congregations in the MIT area?
There are both episcopal and lutheran churches in the area. Here is a list of churches that MIT students have traditionally attended.
