Download Tactical Planning Model 1.0

The Tactical Planning Model 1.0 application is available as a single, self-installing executable. We have tried to make it as close to a standard installation package as possible. By following this advice and instructions, the installation should be relatively painless.

What you should have

  • If you are running Windows 95, then you should either have the OSR Release 2 or have installed the initial service pack that was published by Microsoft a year ago. If you are running Windows NT, you need version 4.0 with at least Service Pack 2, or version 3.51 with at least Service Pack 5. (The location for the latest service packs is provided in Step 1, below, or click here to go to Microsoft's site.)
  • The installation stands a much better chance of working the first time if you have already installed Microsoft's Internet Explorer or Microsoft Office 97; we use some of the same system files installed by these applications.

Installing Tactical Planning Model 1.0

To install Tactical Planning Model 1.0, follow these simple instructions:

  1. If you are running Windows NT 3.51, make sure you have at least Service Pack 5 installed. If you are running Windows NT 4.0, make sure you have at least Service Pack 2 installed. You can determine your Service Pack during the boot sequence. When the white text is displayed on the blue background, the OS version, build, and service pack numbers are all displayed at the top of the screen. You can download the latest service packs at http://www.microsoft.com/ntserversupport/content/servicepacks/default.htm. You should install the latest service pack before continuing on to the next item.
  2. Download the self-installing executable. Make sure to save it to your hard-drive, and then run it from within Explorer. The application is available at the end of this page. If you need help downloading the application, send us an email.
  3. Close any other running programs and then from Explorer run the installation program that you downloaded by double-clicking it.
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions. You must enter a username and company (these are important for registration). You may also select a different directory to install the application, although for the Preview release we suggest using the default settings.
  5. This is important! If you are asked to reboot, you must do so for the installation to work. Upon reboot, the installation program should run itself again. If it does not, you must re-run the installation program before the Tactical Planning Model application will work.
  6. After the installation, you may delete the file you downloaded from your hard drive.
  7. To uninstall Tactical Planning Model 1.0 (in Windows 95 and NT 4.0; we're working on the uninstall for NT 3.51), open the Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs icon, and then select Tactical Planning Model 1.0 in the list of installed applications and click Remove.
