I
am a graduate student in philosophy at MIT. For the academic year
2008-9, I will also be a visiting scholar at the Department of
Philosophy, University of Pittsburgh.
My general interests are in the nature and structure of mental
representation, as well as the representations in scientific theories.
I am interested in the principles behind the acquisition of these
representations.
My thesis concerns the epistemology of
abstract scientific knowledge. It discusses Bayesian and explanationist approaches, and the relation between them.
I have a previous life as a physicist and continuing interests in
philosophy of physics. See
