FlyMusic - Music Identifier Application
FlyMusic is a free desktop-based music identifier similar to Shazam and SoundHound. Just like these applications, it can identify songs based on their actual audio contents with high accuracy. It's built on top of a very powerful and growing audio fingerprinting service developed at EchoNest. What does that mean? It means the application will automatically improve its recognition rate over time as the backend service continues to evolve. And since EchoNest is the "behind the scenes" service for many modern music applications such as Spotify, iHeartRadio, etc..., it also means FlyMusic can deliver the same trusted high-quality and robust identification system to its end users.
Currently, the application works with almost all types of audio/media files such as mp3, wma, m4a, mp4, wav, flv, and more. It does not offer over-the-air (OTA) identification at the moment since this option is still under development from the server side (EchoPrint). However, as soon as it's ready, FlyMusic will be updated to handle OTA scenarios. The present system is useful in cases where audio files were copied from CDs or other devices and in the process lost their information, or didn't have any such data originally.
FlyMusic is very simple and easy to use. Users only need to specify an audio file or a directory and it will automatically search for qualified files underneath. Below are a few screenshots of the application:
