A Letter From Coach To All Prospective MIT Gymnasts
I was introduced to the MIT Men's Gymnastics program fifteen years ago, having just completed my undergraduate degree and athletic eligibility. Mine was a true Division I experience complete with full-scholarship and NCAA titles. Though the immense value of my experience, I was, at times, unimpressed with the lack of value placed on the vast educational potential of varsity athletics. Such are the pitfalls of a highly competitive coach and program.
What I discovered at MIT, however, was an extraordinary gymnastics program of an entirely different sort. Here, at one of the world's leading academic/research institutions, was a program founded on the wellbeing, enjoyment and academic success of each student-athlete, as realized by way of gymnastics.
Now, in my second year as Head Coach of that very program - and with the utmost of respect for my predecessor, Fran Molesso who, over an 18 year period, and with great caring, built such a program - my intent is simply to continue to provide a collegiate gymnastics experience to complement the extraordinary educational experience offered by MIT.
Below you'll find basic information on our schedule and facility. I welcome all inquiries and look forward to hearing from you.
