The
Empire Hall of Fame

Empire falls into the broad category of simulation games and involves military, political, and economic factors. Although no goal is explicitly stated, players rapidly derive their own, ranging from the mundane desire to be the biggest, mightiest country in the game and "conquer" all others to the more refined goals of having the most efficient land use possible or the lowest ratio of military to civilians while still surviving, etc.

Though it is somewhat difficult for many to remember, Empire is "just a game". To some, however, it is more than just a game. It is a way of life; an extraordinary pastime, a "thing to do". It is these people that allow empire to develop its flavors, and make the Empire Hall of Fame possible.

The Empire Hall of Fame was created in 1992 by the Suboceanaen Arts and War Academy for the dual purpose of recognizing and recording the legendary exploits of Empire's greatest countries, as well as providing entertainment to the Empire community as a whole.

In its original conception, it consisted of two parts: The General Awards, then known as "the Subby", and the infamous (or notorious) Countries of the Round Table.

As with many things in Empire, the EHoF has been a highly contentious and controversial entity. Yet almost all would agree that it has provided the looking glass through which we see what is best and brightest about one of the best games on the Internet today.
