"Exclusivity Theory"

Let's face it, each and every one of us

struggled when we started a game, unless we

had someone guiding us. When I picked up whatever

manuals that existed back in '88, they shed

absolutely no light on how the game of empire

should be played. In a way, I was both stupid and

lucky. Stupid in that I took the time I needed to

take to not suck, sometimes never leaving

that computer lab for hours on end. Lucky in that

there were six of us living like that back then.


What does this mean? In a way, it means that we want

everyone who comes after us to feel the same pain, to

go through the same trial by fire, before we accept

them into our 'fraternity', into our circle. We do this

in many ways.
