  Yes, unix is the operating system of choice

for many people who know computers, but the

number of people who are using Windows '95,

NT, and MacOS at the desktop is substantially

higher. Their client needs must be addressed.


My third suggestion would be even better

documentation. I looked out on the net for

examples, and the closest thing I found to

good documentation is something that Geoff

Cashman wrote years before.


Ultimately, we need to do for empire the very

thing that Major League Baseball is doing, though

they (and we) never thought we would ever have

to do. We need to market the game.


We live in an era where there is so much competition

every game is screaming for attention, and

screaming continuously, at the top of their lungs.

By making the game more attractive to potential

players, through client improvement, better

documentation, and improved information resources

via the WWW, we ensure that we have a shot at

at least getting our voice to be heard, even louder.

Heck, our game is better designed, more competitive,

more interesting, more fun, and it's free.
