CONTENTS:	 Maple base locker

DESCRIPTION:	 Maple is a symbolic computation package

HOW TO RUN:

  COMMAND:	 add maple; maple.java	(GUI version)
		 add maple; maple.tty   (TTY interface)

                 add maple; maple -ver xxx (specify a different version)

                      e.g.  maple -ver 2018
		

  FROM DASH:	 Default version available from Numerical/Math menu 

INTERFACES:	 TTY, X11 (Motif library)

VERSIONS:    Maple 2018 is the current default.  
             Available versions on Athena are as follows.  

             For Linux 64       Maple 2017, 2018

DEPENDENCIES:	 Matlab, for Matlab link functionality
                 Java, for Java interface

DATAFILES:	 Platform-independent, but the format of release 3 ".ms"
		 worksheet files differs from later versions and must
		 be forward-converted.

LICENSE SERVER:	 FlexLM. Server host dorian (license-25), software is 
                 wrapped.

RESTRICTIONS:	The Maple system is of a proprietary and confidential
		nature, and users (including those under sublicenses) are
		obligated to respect license terms with regard to nondis-
		closure and unauthorized use.

ADD'L RIGHTS:	Students, faculty and staff can download Maple at no cost.
                See http://ist.mit.edu/maple/all for details (you will need 
                an MIT certificate to get access).

ADD'L		Whenever any formal representation, written, printed, or
CONDITIONS:	oral, is made by MIT relating to the Maple System, such
		representation shall be accompanied by a reference to the
		Symbolic Computation Group, Department of Computer Science,
		University of Waterloo as the originator of the Maple 
		system.
