- COOKIES: I was trying to think of dessert things that would be very different than the sort of stuff restaurants make for receptions :-), and I decided homemade cookies are the right answer. There are many great things about cookies. Lots of people like to make them. They come in a great variety. Lots of people like to eat them. They freeze well. You can eat just one or two. They don't require plates or serving utensils. My proposal: anyone who wants to should tell me what sort of cookie they plan to make (so we don't end up all with one kind), and make a few dozen cookies. If people would like to make cookies ahead of time I would be happy to store them in my deep freeze. People can bring cookies directly to the party, or drop them off with me and I'll bring them. Please label the cookies with type and ingredients if at all possible. (And as always label any dishes you want returned.) 1. mikka 2. Jan 3. Andrea 4. Megan (sugar-free lemony meringues, tuiles d'almond) 5. rif & Anna 6-N. - BUY PITA: I could use someone to go to Watertown on the Friday or Saturday before and buy loaves of fresh pita bread from one of the Mideastern grocery stores. (Fresh stuff is SO much better than the several day old stuff sold at regular grocery stores) 1. Adina - NAN: I could use someone to make arrangements with an Indian restaurant and then pick up some Nan on the day of the party and take it directly to the shivaree. 1. Adina - ICE: I could use someone to bring ice cubes to the shivaree (for icing drinks and for keeping drinks cold) {It's important that the ice cubes not be too stuck together or they will not be useful for keeping the coolers cool} 1. Heidi - TABLECLOTHS: When serving messy things, it's nice to have vinyl tablecloths, or at least plastic backed paper ones. If there are going to be decorations, whoever is doing that could easily obtain tablecloths. Or I'll just use the same green vinyl ones I always do. 1. mikka - FOOD PREP: Friday night May 23rd- food prep. 7pm - 11pm 1. mikka 2-N. - BAKING: Saturday Baking and other making. 1pm - 8pm.
