Massachusetts Aerospace Cluster Initiative (MACI)
Sponsored and administered by the Massachusetts Space Grant Consortium (MASGC)
Funded by the John Adam Institute for Innovation (JAII) administered by the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative
- In order to encourage in-state collaboration and cooperation in competing for federal funding for aerospace activities from federal agencies such as NASA, DOD and Homeland Security, MASGC is proposing to form a cluster of related industries in aerospace, defense, electronics and high tech in the Commonwealth to be called MACI. It is anticipated that this cluster will provide a much needed forum in the state for the associated industries to be able to network for the benefit of the economy and job creation in the state. The cluster also hopes to spur innovation in these industries with a prize and create other mechanisms for commercialization of academic research.
- Management:
- MACI will be managed in the first year by current employees of the MASGC and an Advisorty Committee comprising members from government, industry and academia.

- 3. Business Roundtable - Fall 2007
- 4. 50-K prize - (Sept-June)
- 5. Plan for next 4 years - January 2008
