The day was breaking, the sky was clear and their immediate departure was imperative. There was a party of men, armed with knives and bludgeons running towards the DarkWind, led by a mounted Don Leone. "Get that anchor up, Dug, Ruck. Brin, Mat, Merwin, raise the sails. Let's get the 'el out of here." Myce was jumping up and down, yelling orders right and left. "Myce, they're trying to board us!" Mer screamed as a grappling hook came over the side. Arturo ran over, and cut the line. A thud occured, and a splash of water hit the side of the boat. Jacob ran onto the deck. "What's the hubbub?" His black cloak was flapping in the light breeze, as Myce stopped, and pointed to the men attacking the DarkWind. "Allow me to be of assistance." Jacob said, as he bowed gallantly. He pulled a silver pouch out of his pocket and sprinkled it's contents onto his hand. Then he blew gently on the pile of clear sparkling gemstones. As they misted over from the moisture in his breath, the clouds raced to cover the sun and the fog rolled into the harbor. As the yells from the men below became muffled, thumps and cries were heard as the scoundrels began bumping into each other. Another grappling hook made it onto the DarkWind, but it was as easily dispatched as the first. Dug and Ruck hurriedly raised the anchor, and the DarkWind slowly moved out of the port. "I don't know where to steer! The fog is everywhere." Brin cried out. Mer ran over and took over the wheel. She closed her eyes, and felt her way out of the harbor. A long, tense hour followed, as everyone strained to hear if the DarkWind was scraping bottom, or coming near the jagged rocks that lined the Dragon's mouth. Finally the fog cleared, and the DarkWind was calmly moving forward on the sea. Mer looked exhausted. She let go of the wheel, and began to fall. Merwin and Damon rushed, catching her before her head hit the deck. "She'll be alright, she just needs some sleep." Jacob said after looking at the girl. He then directed the boys to take Mer to her bunk. "Well, Myce." Jacob said, as he took her hand. "What next?" Myce smiled at the handsome minute wizard. "I don't know. Does anyone have any ideas?"
