"It's all right child, trust in them, they will protect you, trust..." "Mother?" Tali thrashed in her sleep, and suddenly her eyes brushed open, at the touch of smooth fingers on her brow. Before he was the same pretty elven woman, holding her hand. Quickly she snatched it away, and her fasce blushed pink. From the nearby port window a ruffle of silky black flew towards her and alighted on her shoulder. She reached up a hand and smoothes it down the Raven's back, which was a comfort to her, as well as a sign of love to her avian comapion. The elven captain seeing the frighten look on the young girls's face, moved from the side of the bed to a chair that was sitting across from it "Tali, that is your name isn't it?" The captain asked the young girl. "Yes maam." Tali pressed her feet out against the end of the bunk, and slowly scooted herself up into a sitting position. Angel tried to supress a giggle, at the thought of anyone calling the captain ma''am, but it was unsucessful. "Humf" The petite captain shot Angel a daggered look, which quieted the girl immediately. "Well right off you can drop the Ma'am thing. On the Darkwind, that's my ship, in case no one told you. The crew call me Myce or captain. You got that?" Myce's face was knotted up in a look of annoyance, but when she saw the girl shrink back in fright, she softened it a bit. "Why don't you just call me Myce." The captain saud, offering Tali a brief smile. The young copper-haired girl sat back up, and a long sigh escaped her slim body. "Myce, ma..errr captain. I'm ever so sorry fer getting aboard yer ship. But I was runnignf from Brutus, and Maxine, see they were trying to drag me and Onyx, this is Onyx," Tali glanced over to her Raven comapion, who gave off a squak, "he's the one what helped me get away from the Snickus, he's the nasty man wot runs the carnavel, where they were trying to make me find them tha treasure and.." Myce held up her hand to halt the girl's whirlwind of speech. "Back up, what about the treasure? When you popped out of the orange crate, you went in to some kind of trance and started mumbling about the VierKreene. What do you know about it? "Well it happens sometimes I get these sights, these pictures just come shootin inta my head. Pictures of other people, sometimes bad ones, like I saw a sight of Brutus and Maxine chasin me. And sometimes I get pictures of other strange things, when I touch a certain thing or when I see something it might start me with a sight. If in I try to see something I never can. And that's why I finily run'd away from Snickus, he kept yellin at me and busting me backside because I couldn't tell him no more about the VierKreene. I had that one sight after seeing that bit of map at the bookseller man's..." Myce scooted closer, and leaned toward Tali. "You mean ole Thornwhires? You saw a map at his place, that caused you to have a vision of the VierKreene? "Yes. I remember I was under the water but not in it, and..." "Under but not in it, that dosen't make any sense." Myce looked perplexed. "Well I can't tell you why my sights are the way they are, I can only tell you what I see." "Go on." Tali went on to tell Myce of how in her sightings of the VierKreene, she entered this room or cave like place under the water. And as she walked on she came to a three way split passage. When she entered either the left or right passages, tha face of a horrible winkled face witch, appeared, laughing and cakling at her, about bringing her the eye of the devil, if she was to give up her secrets. Then a blinding flash of light, split the vision and it was over. "Myce and Angel were engrossed by the young girl's tale. When she finished Myce asked what had prompted her vision of the VierKreene, after coming out of the crate. "Well I'm not sure, but when I looked over I saw a boy off to the side. He was folding the edges back and forth on a small bit of paper. And that's when the sight struck me." The room was silent as Myce thought over all she'd heard. Suddenly the quiet was broken by the loud snarl of the lion. All eyes turned to the doorway of the cabin, where it could be seen that the lion had one of the boys backed up against the gunwale. "What's going on?" Myce leapt from her chair, and over to where the lion stood growling at the frightend boy. Tali hopped off the bunk and peeked around the corner to see what was all the fuss. "That's him. The boy with the paper, wot started my sight" ~CK~
