I'm 46, originally from Oklahoma (BA Journalism, Univ. of Oklahoma). I only write as time permits as the day job designing subdivisions for an engineering firm drains most of my resources. I have written songs, poems, prose, and some short stories. No illusions about being published, I just have a creative yen. My favorite use of poetry was in my younger days as a practicing barroom poet. Dashing off verse for the ladies. I'd write maybe six or seven a night. Most had never recieved a poem written about them for them in their lives which I thought was a sad and easily rectified situation. I will be submitting some of my crud in the future as I grind away at my brain. (There's just something about working on a computer that is less fulfilling than that steady tick, tick, ding of my old Underwood). For now I will leave you with an interesting website (in Texas Dialect I'm afraid) that one of my co-workers discovered when he was supposed to downloading the company's mail. Walter Miller's Home Page http://pages.prodigy.com/Hell/Walter Deadline Admonition: "Do the best you can, with what you have to work with, in the time that you're allowed." Dr. Jim Hickey, formerly of the H.H. Herbert School of Journalism, OU. Bless You, My Children! Got to shag it to bed. Carter.
