Date: Fri, 25 Oct 1996 02:22:52 -0500 From: Danny Lloyd Subject: Filler: Another bio comin' atcha.... Hi. With all the recent bios, I figured I should throw one in. So... * 44 year old divorced guy with 17 year-old son who stays part time with me and part time with what's-her-name. * Ex-broadcaster (radio news) trying to translate all that news-writing into some fiction-writing. Have been writing short stories a few years now, but still, for some reason, haven't submitted any. But I've become very much immersed in writing, so hopefully, with the inspiration and guidance I hope to find here in the 'list', I will soon. * Computer guy. I do that too - it pays some of the bills (not all of them - I stall the others). Buy/build/sell computers - and do repairs. (want a cheap computer??????). * Live in wide-awake Greenville, TX, about 40 miles northeast of Dallas. Actually, I'm living here temporarilly (with my mother) until I can get back to Dallas, where I've lived for some time. Had gallbladder surgery, lost my apartment while recovering, etc...etc...so now am staying here for awhile. * Am entering a new aspect or era of my life since I now take zoloft and buspar for 'major depression' and 'recurring acute anxiety' (which I didn't even realize I had - I just knew I couldn't function - felt miserable - terrible - and so on and so on) BUT NOW feel a thousand percent better, can function, can actually DO things, etc...etc...etc. I mention this personal part of my life because I have come to believe so strongly in the benefits of such medicine and I guess am offering a case history for your consideration (zoloft is similar to prozac). Anyway, it's helped me. And it's helped me help myself, allowing my mind to be 'clear' enough to resolve quite a bit about myself. By the way, I lost that apartment when I was NOT on medicine and my world was falling apart - and had that surgery too, on top of everything else. But, life is much better now. So there. * I like movies (well-put-together, sincere stuff, be it strange or romantic or adventure or sci-fi), astronomy (not to be confused with astrology), reading (of course), 'light jazz/new age music/meditation music/whatever they're calling it this week', computers, the 'net', genealogy, pursuing the unexplained or enigmatic (reading about it - contemplating it), and this and that, including, of course, writing. * I've been near death at least five times (from guns at my head to being stranded in a blizzard 40 miles from the nearest town, asleep in a car with the snow packed underneath it, the carbon monoxide seeping in, and I'm sound asleep, windows rolled up, 3am, and in this remote place, in this terrible blizzard, there is a knock at my driver's-side window, banging and banging, until I wake up.....and then.... -- it's true)..... * I've 'been' everything from musician to broadcaster to cab driver to data-entry operator to 'computer guy' (and even a few other things I can't readily remember). * Whoops, I'm out of room.... - Danny ------------------------------ Signatures: A few of them follow: ** Signature for topics on Genealogy ** Researching: Lloyd, Garten, Hames, Hooks, Kaiser, Smith, Westbrook, Stephens, Fowler, Christian, Moseley, Gainey, Maxwell, Krugg, Sandefur, Gainey, Fann, Foster, Jones, Morris, Battle. ** Signature for topics on 'Writing' ** One long, cool day, Private Eye Charlie Chase began the process of pouring himself a long, cool drink, but was disturbed by a knock at his office door, and the appearence of a long, cool blonde. The leggy, short-skirt-clad bombshell wiggled her way slowly toward him, whispering, almost imperceptibly, "Charley, I need your services. I desperatly need a private eye. They're after me. Please help me. Please. Please." << To be continued >> ** Signature for my daily White House chats ** Hang in there Billy... ** Signature for flirting ** Hey baby... ** Signature for impressing people ** See my home page at "WWW.NASA.US.GOV" -------------------------- Or you can see my real web page at: http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/hills/4252
