        Hi All, and Rachel thanks for asking. i am ed, a tourist, out
of uniform , with broken rules. A visitor to the list, who you may
catch on a busy street look you in the eye and for that instant you
may consider something unspoken but in common and safe. i am sure it
has happened to you: an unexpected glance, a nod, a feeling that i'm
really not alone here, and then we go on our ways.
        i live in Maine, out in the wags and i enjoy writing about
that.  In the past month or so i've seen near my home twin bear cubs,
a yearling moose, deer, and have overheard the conversations of
coyotes in the garden. My dog has been sprayed by a skunk and has
assisted in making jewelry by donating seventeen porcupine quills from
her lips to my youngest daughter's art.  Last Wednesday driving to
work i saw seven eagles in one moment, osprey, an owl, blue heron
cranes, and a palliated woodpecker. You don't have to search for
observations, analogies, and metaphors here.
        i am a conjunctionist. i love the way certain words sound and
i smile wh en they put their heads together. And i keep things others
might throw away.  In my pockets are the stuff of little boys. i hope
some of you will enjoy what i save....ed
