Before I posted anything at all to the list, I wanted to introduce myself and let you all know who I was. Just seemed to make sense. My name is Kari Adams and I'm a sophomore at Marshall University, majoring in, at least I think it will be, Physics. I have written my entire life, but I always seem to lose it in the middle. In other words, I start a story and then get writer's block. For the past few years, I have had writer's block and a definite unwillingness to write that stemmed from my ex-husband mocking my feelings. I wanted out and had no clue how to tell him, so when he went to prison, I divorced him. (I'm not making this up - it really happened) Currently, I'm working on a story that just seems to flow from my fingertips, but I love to have people critique my work. Constructive criticism is an excellent way to learn and to better yourself. I've been reading the list for about a week and I just wanted to say - you all sound very talented. For the lady whose husband wanted her to spend more time with him instead of her writing - I can understand his sentiments exactly, but NEVER give up your writing for anything. If he doesn't understand that - set time aside for just you and time to be with him. Time management in that type of situation really helps. Anyway, I've probably bored you all to tears by now, so I'm going now... Anyone want to see the first part of my story? It's kinda on the edge because it deals with five individual people who learn that each of them is an Element (Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit) and the first part is about trying to get all five of them together. Thanks in advance, --Kari
