Subject:      Fill: Introduction

G'day everyone,

As you may have guessed I'm somewhat new to this list. I've been lurking
for the last few days and it seems like a friendly sort of place so I
figured I'd jump on in, splash about a little and see how wet I get.
I'm a wouldbe/wannabe writer, nothing published yet apart from a few
nonpaying fanzines (oh and two one page articles in a computer magazine
many many moons ago but I don't count those).
I used to hang around in misc.writing but I became somewhat less than
enamoured of the infighting; bickering; punchups; major public sulks and
adverts for various sexual services that seem to predominate. So far
this place looks much more refined and restrained (now don't go proving
me wrong!).
Oh yeah, and I'm a Yorkshireman living in Australia.
That's nuff about me...now do we have any questions from the audience?

One final thing before I go, I've got numerous short stories that I'd
love for people to read but I have two questions:
1) What's the acceptable length limit (oh, behave!) for submissions?
2) Is submitting an article here considered to be publishing? I I've
heard that a lot of publishers consider anything that's been put up on a
website to have lost it's first publication rights...how about here?
