Date: Sun, 18 May 1997 11:24:10 -0700 From: Marsha Ward Subject: FILL: Bio, Marsha Ward Herewith my official bio (which I've discovered, needs updating, but here's the gist of who I am and what I've done): Marsha Ward Marsha Ward is an award-winning freelance writer and editor whose published articles, columns, poems and short stories number over 800 pieces. At the present time, she is the Arizona Editor of _The Beehive_ newspaper, a Las Vegas-based chain. She has also been editor of _The Arizona Latter Day Journal_ newspaper, and was managing editor of _The Arizona Latter-Day SUN_ newspaper. In addition, she was a staff writer for the Latter-Day Sentinel Newspapers, a Phoenix-based chain, for five years; wrote columns for newsletters in Florida and Arizona; and edited a writer's newsletter based in Arizona. Marsha has studied creative writing since 1983 under the tutelage of Stephan Overholser, William Greenleaf, Donna Clark Goodrich, and others. Her short story, "No More Strangers," placed in a national short story competition sponsored by _ByLine Magazine_. "The Usual Game" appeared in the anthology _Cactus Cuttings_, and "Cottonwood Saturday" was published in _The Roadrunner_. In addition to writing, Marsha works with other writers as a creative consultant, editor, workshop presenter, contest judge, teacher, and mentor. She taught creative writing at Washington Irving School and newspaper writing at Carmel Charter School; and founded Arizona Night Writers Association. Marsha attended Phoenix College and Northern Arizona University where she majored in Music Performance and Spanish. She lived for two years in Colombia and Venezuela, and her poetry was published in the Venezuelan periodical, _La Cosecha_. A native of Arizona, Marsha is a member of Western Writers of America, Inc.
