Date: Sat, 21 Jun 1997 21:57:31 -0000 From: RainiMadden Subject: RE-INTRO: Hi, guys! Back for a bit. Been walking around these echoing halls for a few hours and it's pretty quiet today. That's cool. It was a tad hot 'round these parts when I took leave a few weeks (months?) ago. I'm starting on a new novel (Hmmm, is that redundant? ;) and am hoping to count on WRITERS to keep me motivated. For those of you who don't know me yet, my intro goes something like this... I'm one of those unusual native creatures of central Texas...born in San Antonio on April 18, 1953, raised in several small Texas towns, and ended up in Austin, Texas, where I've lived for the past 24 years. The past 20 years have been with my wonderful husband, Terry, who puts up with all my ideas. If you knew me, you'd probably nominate him for sainthood. I own Professional Partners, a graphic design business, with one boss, me, and one employee, also me. I've gone from small black and white jobs to four-color brochures over the last 9+ years that I've been in business. The business has really changed over the years, but I've managed to keep up so far! My other career is writing fantasy, romance, some horror, some science fiction. It's not paying the bills yet, but it will someday soon. Many things vie for my attention. First, and most tenacious, are my Belgian Sheepdogs. I love and show and, maybe, someday will breed them. Pick up an AKC Dog Book next time you're in a bookstore and check them out. Next, has to be my roleplaying. I love to play in and gamemaster fantasy scenarios, cliffhangers, space/science fiction scenarios, and espionage adventures. I've gotten some really great character ideas through my roleplaying. I also paint metal miniatures that represent my roleplaying characters and read and listen to music and daydream out the window on beautiful days. I would have been at Arcadia tonight (Saturday), but my ISP is being flaky and I couldn't log on. So, anyway, it's good to be back! Read you all soon!
