Date: Wed, 18 Dec 1996 22:07:52 EST From: Jane A Gray Subject: Re-Intro She stepped quietly into the tavern and glanced about for a familiar face or two. It had been so long! Over a year, in fact. She sidled over to a quiet table near the door without drawing attention to herself and sat down. She did not remove her coat for she did not know how long she would stay. As her eyes adjusted to the dimness, a small flame appeared at the back of the room. She smiled softly and thought to herself that maybe things hadn't changed much after all. A quick glance behind the bar confirmed her musings. For there was Mikey, that bizarre little man that had helped fill so much of her life was still there. She hoped with all her heart that he was still serving Herrington Specials that she had first tasted when she was a guppy and loved so much. In another lifetime, it seemed. She had changed so much over the last year, it really did seem like a lifetime ago. Not too long after her divorce she had moved to Denver, Colorado. Being a single mother and working as many as four jobs at a time didn't allow for much time to enjoy the company of her dear friends. But perhaps now things were settling down enough so that she could devote some of her time to to the WRITERS that had helped her so much in the past. She strained to see who it was that Mikey was talking to. At last, there was someone that she knew. And someone that she was sure would remember her. Her Mommy MJ would never forget her. And next to her at the bar was Chris Vaughn, whom she had first met on the Enterprise. At the other end of the bar, content to sit back and watch as she was now doing was Mr. Valentine Michael Smith, who had to be the single most intelligent man she had ever met. Though she remembered these few faces well, for they had been there for her when she needed them most, there were so many that were unfamiliar to her, but that was typical of this place. And there were some that she seemed to recognize but perhaps that was just wishful thinking. Yes, it felt good to be back. She thought she might lurk in the shadows a bit longer, then join the crowd and see if she could still hold her own. Another flame burst out, larger this time and she changed her mind about lurkdom. She brought out her marshmallows.
