Foshee" Subject: xtending my hand in introduction I've been floating around the past several days and finally cleared my head enough to say hello. Ever felt like a kid in a candy store? Getting 50+ emails a day is overwhelming!!! -- but so much is there to be found -- I only wish I had time to read everthing (as if you don't know that feeling). So, hello to all, and I look forward to contributing a critique or two, this looks to be a wonderful resource for all. I am a single dad, a second semester junior in college, and working as close to full time as can. If you can imagine, then you know this is just about all I do:-) At 25, I've been writing since I was an angry teenager -- now, mostly I'm just angry (at world in general I think, you know: human machine of destruction stuff ie futility, significance as a possibility in a world of 6 billion and rising, and whether or not as human species we will make it.) I guess you could say my self torture provides much fuel for writing and thought. Don't be fooled -- I love life, and enjoy every moment of my own little world -- my son is literally best thing to ever happen to me. He's 4 and three quarters as he puts it, and he too provides much inspiration for my writing. I used to wanna be Stephen King, now I just want to write for enjoyment and if it subsequently gets published then ok too. I don't generally do poety, but it's fun, I like macabre, horror, some sci-fi that's not just saga-ish, and I think I want to write a book about my grandfather who has alzheimers -- the story is in my head, but I can't yet get through the tears to get it out. So this is a little more about me than I'd hoped to reveal, but oh well, fuck it. To those of you who've read this whole thing -- wow! my kudos to you, now that you know me better than you know most people in person, please feel free to email me privately or otherwise, you will always find a warm reception. I've decided to (very sheepishly and reservedly) try this out with a poem as my first venture. I hope you all enjoy--it won't move mountains.
