After lurking for some two weeks, after having eagerly followed one thread or the other, - mostly of FILL and Poem - after laughing out loud, after being touched by the beauty of words and the freshness of ideas, I guess it's high time to step out and tell you that I'm here too now! It's been three months now that I have a net access, and when I found out that something like writers' mailing lists exist at all, I got all excited. One good thing is: I found this list. One bad thing is -for me- it's in English. I write in German, that is, if I write. I've looked for lists in German, but just didn't find the kind that I have found here. I have never published anything, but I have been on and off with writing short fiction during the last ten years, things to get your wrists warmed-up :-) There is a plan for a novel, some few pages written. Right now there's another plan for an adventure story for kids. I do not consider myself a kids' writer, but I'd like to finish that one book this year. The idea came from my work with kids, well, I'm a teacher of English as a foreign language. I have also done some educational studies way back then, and a few years ago a German adaptation of an American (if there is something like THE American CW) creative writing course, so that I can call myself a creative writing instructor, German style. (I'm not saying this is of minor quality, only it seems that in the U.S. and/or Anglo-Saxon places there is much more of a tradition in creative writing.) So I probably won't be sending anything in, but would enjoy lingering here. Can I? On the other hand, maybe one day I'll produce tiny bits in English, because I love to play with words, no matter which language. Oh, I'm 45, no kids. Thanks a lot, Tink, for the help that I found on the sites already and for your enjoyable personal style as no-boss boss. Regards from the qwertz part of the world! Thanks a lot Susannah, for giving me the push that I needed to step out. Thanks, writers. Geli
