Listed in no particular order, because I think it should be quite obvious ... 6 points - What is Emotion? by Rebecca Isherwood 2 points - Beware of the God, by Mat Ward 3 points - Love, by Mat Ward 4 points - All you need to do is..., by Mat Ward 7 points - Negative Space, by Sharon Moskowitz 9 points - Heaven Comes Again, Pat Fish 11 points - Vision, Jason Tudor The winner receives a copy of 'No passion spent' by George Steiner and the two runner's up each receive a copy of 'Lacrimae Rerum' by Nicholas Moore. I would be grateful if they could send me their snail addresses as soon as possible, and congratulations to everyone who took part. And now start thinking about the next contest, which will be a mixture of gothic and macabre, a short story or long poem of 2000 - 5000 words. First and second prizes will be a book of each winner's choice to the value of: Having read the Joyce Carol Oates definition I prefer the definition given by Edmundson, even if I was, in the end, slightly disappointed with the overall book. First Prize: 50 dollars (US) or equivalent worth of book Second Prize: 30 dollars (US) or equivalent worth of book Submissions should be sent to me at: litterateur@t-online.de and not to the list and should have on the subject line: MAC: (so that I don't get confused with the gothic list ...) I will start accepting submissions from 1 January 1998 and the contest will close on 31 January 1998 Greenwich Mean Time (which is almost the same as in Germany anyway) Voting will then be from 1 February to 7 February 1998. The gothic and macabre contents *are* open for discussion, but, in the end, it's what everyone else on the list thinks, as I don't vote or pass judgement (much). Happy writing!!
