Date: Sat, 28 Feb 1998 22:47:52 EST From: the flute-minor Subject: [WRITERS] FILL: Just the ASCII and Tags... not nearly as good as "Just the Facts," but If we could all remember to clip out extra headers, and make sure your mailers are set for plain ASCII text, it would help ensure that everyone can read your postings... And if we could think about the tags... SUB: is for initial submissions (stories, poetry, non-fiction, etc.) CRIT: is for critiques, comments, and other responses TECH: is for the little hints about the techniques of writing EXER: is for exercises (stretch those writing muscles!) WOW: is for news about the world of writing INT: is for the interactives, round robins, and other multiple author write-alongs FILL: is for the many things we talk about Re: is ignored, but Fwd: and other stuff makes listserv confused (it's a big, dumb program, so be nice to it). Change the tags when needed, okay? E.g., when you respond to a Sub:, change Sub: to Crit: in the subject line. And when we wander away from the original Sub: and Crit:, change to Fill: [if you want to know more about this, please take a look at http://web.mit.edu/mbarker/www/faqs/faqs.html -- especially an introduction to topic tags] thanks! tink
