I am assuming that the text is written in WORD. I use Microsoft Word for Windows95, Version 7.0. Write the piece. Then: 1. File: Save as: MSDOS Text with Line Breaks (Alt-f, a, mouse down on that Word Document list) save the file... 2. Close down word. It will tell you that there is formatting which can't be saved in this file format, do you want to save the formatting? Say NO. (just say no...?) 3. I use Eudora Pro (version 2.2) to transfer files from Windows95 to myself at the office. Start Eudora. 4. File: Open Text File (ctrl-o) find the file and open it 5. select all (ctrl-a) and copy it (ctrl-c) (you can also do this via edit: select all and edit: copy) 6. message: new message 7. fill in the to, subject, and cc (optional) 8. in the body of the message, paste the text (ctrl-v or edit:paste) 9. send it off. If you're using intermediate mailers (pine, etc.) these can (unfortunately) introduce some complications. Usually, your local system help is the best resource for how to work around that. Mostly, you need to avoid options such as "ISO-8859" "QUOTED-PRINTABLE" "MIME-encoded" "attachments" and so forth... Sorry this isn't more helpful. But so much of it depends on just which programs you are using... oh--and while I don't want to get into software wards (we use isolation and other hygenic measures here to allow us to support, in some relatively mild degree of insanity, a mix of apples, clones, and unix), I would offer this melancholy warning: beware the binhex mailers, for they are hard to handle... tink
