See, I haven't been around WRITERS much since last year. In fact, the poor, patient winners of last year's contest haven't gotten their goodies yet. The long and short of it is -- I bin sick. I'm better now, but it took some time. Had time off work, and frankly, had a hard time organizing my brain for the rest of the time. But like I said, I'm better now, and those who are waiting since last year -- good news. I have some Most Excellent Paperweights to send you, now. Was just in the studio, and made some fabboo ones. Okay, on to the nitty gritty. Announcing the 8th Annual WRITERS Halloween Short Story Contest. Details: - Short Stories ONLY - 2,000 words OR LESS - *2* entries per person permitted. - Horror/Halloweenish/Spooky/Humourous -- so long as it's spooky scary funny. - To be recieved NO LATER THAN midnight (your time) October 15th. This is a blind contest. You *must* send your entries *to me* at rmherrin@ucalgary.ca I will strip off your name and then send them to the list with the heading SUB:CONTEST: Reading/Voting can take place anytime after the 15th, but all votes *must be in to me* no later than Midnight, October 30th. The winner will be announced on October 31st. What do you get? You'll get a hand made glass paperweight, made by my own little hands. And you'll get it before the end of November. And last year's winners? Watch your mailboxes... yours will be coming soon. If you won last year, and you've moved since then, let me have your new address, please (and again, I'm sorry about the lag....) So that's it! Get writing, get thinking, get reading, GET VOTING! And we encourage crits of the pieces posted. Send your crits to me and I'll pass them along to the authors. That's it! Over to you...
